Apps :: Apps and hardware db

Hi, Im new to this site .... and Im also wanting to try DSL on my other comp (Which I do not possess atm) but I was reading on DSL
and was wanting to know if there was a db DSL has for hardware and if there was a windows interface to use windows based progs like xwindows for instance.... please reply asap thx
