Apps :: dillo patched on other distros?
I like the patched Dillo in DSL. But where did it come from? Searching the web I can only find an outdated patch which says it "has issues" with the new versions of Dillo.
Although I like DSL for specialist tasks, I run another distro on my main system. How may I go about getting the patched Dillo that DSL has installed on another distro?
Thanks
Someone like John could point you towards the source code, but it might be easier to just copy the Dillo files directly over from the DSL cd into your new distrbution. Dillo would not show up in your package manager list of installed packages, but it should still likely work.
For some hints as to the files that should be copied, check here for an example of some information about Dillo:

and here for a list of files associated with the Official Debian installation:

Patches? We don't need no stinkin'...*cough* what the hell was I talking about? Oh, yeah...
Modified Dillo RPM's and links to patches use alien to convert them to deb's.
Paul Pelzl's Dillo-Dev Archive GNU/Arch archive of patched Dillo source.
Hope that helps.
Thanks guys, I just overwrote /usr/local/bin/dillo with the DSL one, then checked comments of the original patch for some additional settings in ~/.dillo/dillorc.
I also discovered Alien can be dangerous to your fs permissions .. found out the hard way but fixed it now :P
I noticed the Dillo in DSL is actually the old version. I can only hope someone forks Dillo into a desktop browser, as it really makes the difference between those millions of old PC's being useful or junk.
Anyway I got Dillo patched working on Slackware, thanks again.
