Ok, I am new to DSL and I am trying to play mp3s and when I play them it says something about a sound card because it is not configured and when I try to configure it I dont know where my soundcard is(/dev/*something) or something like that, can somebody help me. i am using a Conexant Riptide and DSL sees it on startup to. I am a smart at windows not at Linux, so somebody help.
I don't know if this applies to you, but on my old portable I have to load the soundblaster module to get it to work. In a Xterm window type the following:
sudo su
modprobe sb
The first line logs you in as root and the second loads the module.
