Other Help Topics :: Boot Info

What file is the boot information located in? I mean if I wanted to stop or start something loading what file would I edit?

I am sorry about all of my "Newbish Questions" Thanks to those of you who have answered my previous questions.

That depends on what you want to start/stop.  If you're talking about a user program, that is done after the boot process is complete. The most-used file for this in DSL is /home/dsl/.xinitrc
If you mean services (daemons), there really aren't any that start automatically in a default setup.  If you want to start one of them, there are boot options you can add to your bootloader's config file, or you can add commands to start them in /opt/bootlocal.sh

The only thing I wanted to really stop from loading is that thing in the upper right  hand side of the screen. The thing that tells gives you info about your computer.
torsmo is in .xinitrc
