Other Help Topics :: Where is parted?
I've been away from Linux for about 7 years and have just started trying to use a DSL LiveCD that I recently burnt from the ISO image.
I pretty much prefer to stick to the command line when possible. I see from the web site that 'parted' is listed as one of the packages but I can't run the command or even see it using the 'sudo find / -name parted'.
Is 'parted' available on my LiveCD or do I need to somehow add it and burn another?
Is their any other useful partition tools on the standard LiveCD (beyond 'fdisk') that I might want to look into?
Hi,
at boot prompt, type: dsl init 2
after it stops to load the cd, type: cfdisk
its a pretty good tool in order to partition your hd and to format it.

edit of my previous post:
parted ist there: http://ftp.belnet.be/packages/damnsmalllinux/mydsl/apps/
But: I guess, it only works as a GUI app; if you always want to use it instead of cfdisk, then just download it and load it with the mydsl button placed between the two windows of emelfm.
