Other Help Topics :: Synaptic Problem While Downloading JDE
What repo are you using? You can copy and paste by highlighting the part you want to copy and and middle click in the web browser to paste, cuts down on typing.
Have you gone to /var/cache/apt/archives/ and try to force it? example:
dpkg -i --force-overwrite fileutils_4.1-10_i386.deb
I usally use sarge repos and don't get to many problems. The first thing i do when i'm up and running is edit my sources.list to sarge then in root terminal > apt-get update >then> apt-get install synaptic
I prefer the synaptic in sarge as it is a hell of alot more up to date then the one that DSL installs.
sources.list->
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ sarge main non-free contrib
#deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ oldstable main non-free contrib
#deb http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US/ testing/non-US main contrib non-free
#deb-src http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US/ testing/non-US main contrib non-free
#deb http://www.modularity.org/knoppix ./
THE OVERWRITE WORKED GREAT!
I had to isntall some packages manually afterwards, then I just upgraded in synaptic for the rest.
But now I have a new problem.
I can not figure out how to use it
.
How am I supposed to get emacs to run jde? What do I have to click once I get into emacs20? Or what do I have to do to get to it otherwise?
Sorry, can't help on that one. I never used emacs or jde.
Thanks anyway, I may do some light reading, but I just need to find someone who knows how to do this.
