Was a very happy DSL user. Still am, in failsafe mode..but I digress.

The standard Live CD was working fine for me. Then I did two things: I updated the bios and I added a SATA Drive. Now the boot hangs at the penguin. No messages.

I switched to failsafe mode. DSL comes up like a champ, but of course can't see the USB keyboard and mouse.

In expert mode, I let it probe for devices, and then when I get to the next Y/n prompt, I've lost keyboard.

I've tried booting with no USB, but I still hang at the penguin. He's cute and all, but I'd like this to work :)

Are there other cheat codes I could put in? What really weird about the keyboard failing during boot is the keyboard fails *after* I've used it to load various modules.

Anyone else seen this?

I guess the problem is that you added a SATA drive. I had a similar problem ie. DSL stopped booting when I added a SATA disk. It hangs at autoconfiguring of devices (if I remember correctly.)

Worked fine when I removed the SATA drive.

You should use DSL 2.1 (b?), which has SATA support or try DSL-N. Those should work without problems.
