From your first post I assume you run DSL from LiveCD. Correct?
Then I think the CD was corrupted.
If you have other computer then you can to try boot DSL from that CD.
Other method to know if the ISO file is corrupted it is check if md5summed and the checksums match. Here how to do it:Getting DSL From the Mirrors
