User Feedback :: Color Depth Problem

hey! I LOVE DSL and have gotten 3 friends to use it too! One problem, on my PC, a dell dimension 2400, the color depth is messed up. Its never right, no matter what mode i choose. PLEASE HELP!

Does your Dell do the color correctly in Windows? It is possible that it does, but has a marginal video card that might need to be changed out to get DSL to do the
color correctly. Some of the older cards with less than 2 mb of video ram might give some problems, so it might be worth it to try some other cards.

Have you tried booting the machine with framebuffer? At the boot prompt try
fb800x600 Other than that you may have a video card that is not supported by the tinyX server.
