User Feedback :: Automounter started on: floppy cdrom cdrom1
I have d/l'ed 0.7 from 2 different servers, ibiblio and geekery.
Both MD5sums OK , nice 4x burn
I have tried this on 3 computers so far, with both cdr's..
DSL starts fine , autodetection is fine.
gets to a line that says....
Automounter started on: Floppy CDROM CDROM1
Here it just sits still... 0.6.3 works fine on all these systems.
Anyone else seeing this happen ??

Here are the results of my testing..
DSL 0.6.3 runs fine on all my systems....
(from CD, HD, or Flash)
DSL 0.7 only boots/runs on single cpu systems.
(from CD, HD, all are OK...)
DSL 0.7 failed to boot on the following...
1.9g Dual Athlon
1.0g Dual P3
933 Dual P3
Again, DSL 0.6.3 "IS" installed on all these dual systems,
and running fine, either from CD or HD install.
Any ideas on what changed in the init or boot ?
Any other users here with dual cpu's to confirm this ?
Awaiting feedback.

I also have the same problem as ke4nt on a dual xeon CPU hp xw6000
ke4nt1,
Since we have corresponded in the past, please email me, if you are willing to test code for your multi-cpu systems.
already sent...
I did have some success using boot option "nosmp"
DSL did startup, made it thru xsetup, and to desktop.
Unfortunately, no net card detection, no internet, and nothing
in ifconfig but localhost...
modprobing or insmod didn't accomplish anything..
On bootup, netconfig reverts to (backgrounding) right before the
dreaded "automounter started on..." freezeups mentioned earlier.
Could the failed netconfig result in startup failure and consequent
"next line - automounter" apparent freeze?
