User Feedback :: problems with booting DSL

I boot it up, but when its "autoconfiguring devices" it does it for a little, then freezes....the only way i get around this is if i turn off hardware detection...what is the cause of this? is it configuring some hardware? if so, i detect no activity of the CPU...

You might try a knoppix cd and see how that goes. Damn Small is built on that, so the "autoconfiguring devices" comes with it.
I had Damn Small hang on that once, and tried it again, and it worked. Also, try it
on another machine. Maybe you have an odd card or something that has knoppix/dsl stumped. Might have something to do with the network, if you are on one.
