I have tried downloading at school but I cant burn it on cd since our administrator is VERY selfish. Downloading software is against our rules. Hehe

Aspects? hmm... You can run it on cd without installation, no need to install anything. Unless you want a hard drive install. It has an mp3 player, a browser and it can be used as a linux boot/root disk. It is very useful for beginners/students who are trying to learn linux since it can be used almost anywhere.
DSL wont harm Windows partitions that for sure. Unless... You repartition using fdisk or make an ext2 filesystem on it deliberately .No, I mean, if you use damn small Linux, and mount the windows partition, couldnt you just read anything you wanted? It seems like that might be a bit dangerous. Could I just insert the cd and have access to all partitions freely, albeit without write permission (No, this is not wiht a view to doing anything of the sort, just in theory ;)? With the apps thing, I meant if you wanted to install something new to use with DSL, could you just have a small partition, or do it in the ram or something, or would you have to do a hard disk intstall.
I have one more question. My current laptop I am going to leave out in Germany where I have broadband (was going to say DSL, then realised it might cause confusion ;) to act as a webserver. It is running apache on Mandrake Linux. I am going to enable remote root logins. Using damn small, could I remote login from damn small to edit my webpage on a computer with an NE2000 card that otherwise runs XP? This would be very useful, because I will probably get a new laptop for christmas, and dont really want to install Linux on it. (I have a bad history with Linux/Windows dual boots ;)
