User Feedback :: LiveCD commands

LiveCD user here.

I noticed that most, or all, of the applications initially loaded into the ramdisk are symlinks to the actual commands. Does this mean that the commands are always run from the CD rather than from ramdisk? If so, i guess this is why I'm able to run a full system with 256mb?
